The web clipper

Send to Magpie is a small extension for Chrome and Firefox. Right-click anything worth keeping and it lands in the Magpie project you last had open, as ordinary files in your own folders.

What it sends

Images

Right-click an image and it downloads into your project, with the page it came from remembered as its source.

Posts

Send an Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Cara, ArtStation or Bluesky post and its media download at full resolution, with the author and caption remembered.

Pages and links

Send a page and it becomes a link card carrying the page title and its preview image.

Audio

Audio files can be sent straight from the browser too.

Articles

Clip an article and the readable part of the page is converted to markdown in your browser and saved as a note, with the source attached.

No accounts, no servers

The extension has no host permissions, reads a page only when you clip it, and never talks to any server. It hands what you picked to the Magpie app on your computer through a magpie:// link, and article conversion happens inside your browser. Nothing is collected, and nothing leaves your machine.

Try it on your own folders

The download is free for three projects with every feature included, and nothing is imported anywhere: point it at a folder and it is a board.
